Galvanically isolated quick-change chucks

Our specially developed, galvanically isolated quick-change chucks can be attached to nutrunners and EC-spindles, enabling the use of insulated sockets and bits. The galvanic isolation and the insulated casing surface effectively reduce the risk of contact with live components, prevent dangerous short circuits due to high electrical currents, and protect battery modules from unintended short-circuiting.

Torque range

Our quick-change chucks cover a torque range of Max. 25 Nm up to max. 150 Nm
The input torque is absorbed on the drive side via
a square drive, while an internal hexagon is used on the output side.
This design enables quick, secure, and efficient tool holder for various applications.

1. square drive 1/4″, max 25 Nm

2. square drive 3/8″, max 35 Nm

3. square drive 3/8″, max 65 Nm

4. square drive 1/2″, max 150 Nm

Structure

Within the insulating core, electrical conductivity between the bolt and the tool is completely interrupted, allowing for galvanic isolation in the axial direction. A freely rotating outer sleeve ensures radial insulation and provides an insulated and galvanically isolated mounting solution.

1. Electrically isolated connection

2. Insulated plastic jacket surface

3. Quick-change chuck

Product advantages

System design & flexibility

Inexpensive variant to create electrical isolation between the screwdriver and the screwdriving point during screw fastening

Performance & ergonomics

Protection of workers and nutrunners from electrical voltage

Process integration & operational safety

When the sleeve is touched by the worker’s hand or collides with the component, the sleeve stops. Injury to the hand or damage to the component is thus ruled out.

Technical properties

Tested in all applicable areas of the DIN EN 50178:1998-04 and DIN EN 62477-1:2017-10 standards

Electrical isolation between drive and output shaft
Casing surfaces on the straight drive are electrically insulated
Both outer sleeves are mechanically decoupled from the basic tool
Since the quick-change chuck is exclusively mounted on the output square, the concentricity is analogous to the classic quick-change chucks

Area of application

Screwdriving applications in the high-voltage range
Hand-guided or hand-held screwdriving with or without position monitoring

With position-monitored screwdriving using a JÄGER Handling, the following screw distances can be achieved depending on the product.
