Spring balancers give the suspended tool a “weightless” state, enabling effortless handling and precise positioning. After pulling the tool into the desired position, the spring balancer generates a slight retraction force that automatically returns the tool to its original position.

Spring balancers

This system uses a cylindrical drum that causes the spring force to change depending on how far the rope is pulled out. When the rope is pulled out, the spring force increases slightly and evenly in proportion to the pull-out length.

Difference to a rope balancer:
In contrast, a rope balancer uses a conical drum whose diameter tapers depending on the extension length of the rope. The conical shape enables a nearly constant spring force that has no influence on the rope extension.
